This afternoon the Republican caucus released an amended budget that stands on core conservative values. In keeping with the Constitution's foundation, the budget shrinks the size of government agencies and gives the savings back to the American people by extending the Bush-era tax cuts.
The Republican budget solution gives choice and opportunity back to the American people. It puts their hard-earned money back in their pockets. It will grow the economy the American way: through free markets and entrepreneurship. It will repeal Obamacare and allow Americans to choose the health care that best suits them.
Republicans have made the hard choices Democrats refuse to consider. It is time for the government to tighten its belt and lower taxes to ensure America is forever the land of the free and home of the brave.
As the great President Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” The Republican budget fights for and protects freedom for this generation and those to come.
