This is a critical junction in American history -- the middle class is hurting, the economy is stagnating, and our children are burdened by an increasingly insurmountable public debt. However, although Americans are suffering now under the Obama administration’s unsustainable policies, the Republicans of the United States Senate believe that there is another way. We therefore present Americans with an alternative to the Obama regime, one that reduces the deficit, supports the programs critical to America’s security, and doesn’t raise a dime in taxes.
The Republican budget saves America almost $1,000,000,000,000 over the next 10 years. We have slashed waste, reduced inefficiencies, and made the difficult decisions that will keep our country solvent and sovereign for generations to come. We have included cuts such as reforming agricultural subsidies, restoring autonomy to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, controlling frivolous medical malpractice torts, reducing wasteful Defense spending, and simplifying Medicare enrollment decisions for seniors.
However, we recognize that this is just a starting point. We understand the importance of working together with the Democrats in the Senate and the Obama administration and look forward to hearing their opinions on the budget and working with them to keep our country forever the land of the free and the home of the brave.
